Challenge
One of the UK’s premier housebuilders, an existing client, owned a site in the West Midlands on which they wanted to build 500+ units but were being hampered by the existence of a 132,000 volts overhead electric line. The electricity company were quoting in excess of ½ £million to reroute the line around the edge of the site.
Solution
Hamer Associates reviewed the legal position of the electricity company and struck up negotiations. With their involvement Hamer Associates were able to achieve a settlement that consisted of the line being rerouted (partially underground) with the developer paying just £40,000. Thereby not only adding value to the completed development but also by delivering savings of around £460,000
