Challenge
One of the UK's leading retailers proposed development site was impeded by a 132kV underground cable, the electricity company had quoted around £2m to reroute the cable off site. The retailer sought legal advice and were advised that due to the electricity company's rights they would have to pay the full amount to have the cables rerouted. Via a word of mouth contact Hamer Associates were approached to look at the case.
Solution
Following lengthy negotiations by Hamer Associates the cable has been removed from the site, allowing for the development to take place. The cost that the retailer had to pay to the electricity company was £0.
